UKRAINE | Spectacular double strike in Donetsk: more than 1,000 Shahed drones reportedly destroyed 🔥🇺🇦

Ukraine has reportedly carried out a major double strike on a Russian drone storage and preparation site near Donetsk Airport, triggering huge explosions and fires across the facility.

According to Ukrainian and pro-Ukrainian reports, the targeted site may have contained up to 1,000 Shahed-type drones and more than 1,500 warheads, though these numbers have not been independently verified. Ukrainian sources described the attack as a precision operation involving drones and missiles, aimed at disrupting Russia’s long-range strike capability.

If confirmed, the destruction of such a large stockpile would represent a serious blow to Moscow’s drone campaign. Russia has relied heavily on Shahed-type drones to pressure Ukrainian cities, energy facilities, and air defenses, often launching them in large waves to overwhelm interception systems. Recent reporting shows Russia has continued expanding its drone attacks against Ukraine’s energy network.

The strike also highlights Ukraine’s growing ability to hit high-value military logistics targets behind the front line. While Moscow has not confirmed the scale of the losses, footage and reports circulating online point to a powerful secondary detonation, suggesting that ammunition or drone components may have been stored at the site.

For Kyiv, the message is clear: every warehouse, launch hub, and drone assembly point used to attack Ukrainian territory can become a target. For Russia, the reported loss could delay future Shahed launches and force a costly reorganization of its drone supply chain.
