Finally Next Generation Helicopters Are Coming.
The Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft is the Army’s number one aviation modernization priority and is integral to effectively penetrating and destroying enemy Integrated Air Defense Systems. This will enable combatant commanders with greater tactical, operational and strategic capabilities through significant increases in speed, range, endurance, survivability and lethality,” said Dr. BRUCE D. JETTE, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology.
Defence ministers from six NATO member countries have signed an agreement to launch the concept phase that could lead to the development of a next-generation military helicopter. France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK have committed a combined €26.7 million ($27.9 million) to fund the first phase of the Next Generation Rotorcraft Capability (NGRC) programme.
